    BOYS BOX PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Lou Fusz Lacrosse is excited to announce our boy's lacrosse box program. This year we have added a brand new coaching staff, uniforms, and requiring box pads to participate (rib pads) on top of your normal outdoor equipment. We are excited to introduce our new coaching staff! Please see below to read more about them. Our boys will be practicing one a week, scrimmaging clubs throughout the Winter, and attending one Midwest tournament at the end of the season. See below for more details!!

    BENEFITS OF BOX LACROSSE:

BOX makes you better! Box lacrosse provides participants with a unique indoor experience with a focus on stickwork, 2-man concepts and a faster paced game. All while performing in a smaller area and with more physical play. Box lacrosse is a fast-paced game that takes place indoors and is played 5v5. This game will teach our athletes how to make quick decisions, play in tight spaces, and increase their stick skills for field lacrosse. There's a constant transition from offense to defense and defense to offense, forcing players to develop the skills to play both ends of the field. It teaches players to become more adept at finishing, shot selection, scooping ground balls, dodging defenders, and passing and catching in traffic. And with a short shot clock and no out-of-bounds, the ball is constantly in play.

It's no secret that Canadian players with a box lacrosse background have become a predominant recruiting target at all levels. The stick skills and increased number of touches on the ball simply make a better player, both offensively and defensively.

Our Box lacrosse program is part of the Blue Star Academy. The Blue Star Academy is an advanced Winter travel team and technical training program within Lou Fusz Athletic (LFA) that is focused on the elite development of our most competitive lacrosse players. The Academy exists to identify top performing middle school and high school players that strive to play at the collegiate level. With a focus on technical skill development, high-level positional coaching, and competing in leagues and tournaments against the best of best, Blue Star empowers our lacrosse players to reach their full potential.
